Rules & Regulations
• Participants of the 10km Road Running, Half Marathon Road Running must be at least 16 years old on race day.
• Participants of the 23km Trail Running and 50km Trail Running must be at least 18 years old on race day.
• The Organizer reserves the right to ask racers to present their proof.
• Racers must confirm all information provided in the registration form is true and accurate. Racers not completing payment will be deemed to have withdrawn his/her/their registration and such registration will no longer be processed. All registration fee, service fee and merchandse fee will not be refunded once submitted. Registration fee paid for duplicated entries will not be refunded and places are not transferable.
• Once the entry is submitted with payment, it is assumed that all racers understand and agree to follow all rules & regulations from Organizers.
• Once entry is submitted, it is non-transferable and refundable. Racers must NOT transfer their bib to another person and participate in the race, or both persons will be disqualified and no result will be provided. All registration information and category are unchangeable.
• Racers are advised to seek medical advice of their physical condition and to have enough training before participating in the Event to ensure their physical condition are capable of participating in this Event and finishing the race. Once the entry is submitted, it is assumed that racers agree and confirm:
(a) he/she is capable of completing the race without any medicial or other assistance, and with no symptoms of COVID-19 and COVID-19 or other similar contagious disease
(b) he/she indemnifies and holds harmless the Organizer from (i) any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/herself or any other persons, and (ii) any property loss or damage, and (iii) any infection of COVID-19 or other similar contagious disease on other racers, event staff
Racers are advised to purchase their own personal accident insurance and other relevant insurance according to their needs.
• Racers should understand the risks involved in taking part in the race, and acknowledge the degree of fitness required to take part therein.
• Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure or any current infection of COVID-19 should not participate in the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow/disqualify any person who is known to have the above condition. The Organizer, at its sole discretion, also has the right to suspend any participant who appears or is suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the Event.
• Racers are advised to seek medical advice of their physical condition and to have enough training before participating in the Event to ensure their physical condition are capable of participating in this Event and finishing the race. Once the entry is submitted, it is assumed that racers agree and confirm:
• he/she is capable of completing the race without any medicial or other assistance, and with no symptoms of COVID-19 and COVID-19 or other similar contagious disease
• he/she indemnifies and holds harmless the Organizer from
a) any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/herself or any other persons, and
b) any property loss or damage, and
c) any infection of COVID-19 or other similar contagious disease on other racers, event staff
• Race Pack Pick-up Notice will be sent to racers via email 10 days beofre the race.
• Racers should present the pick-up notice (in soft copy) in specific date, period and location to pick-up their race pack (including bib, timing chips). The Organizer reserves the rights not to distribute racpack for racers who come pick-up out of the period.
• Only one racer need to show up to pick up race pack for category Team of 2.
• No race pack will be distributed on the race day (including bib and timing chip).
The Organizer reserves the right to amend the race course before or during the race in case of road condition or emergency situation without further notice. The race may be suspended for Emergency Vehicle Access (EVA). Please follow instructions given by staff and law enforcement on the race day.
• Racers are advised to minimise the noise impact on nearby residents as the race is held in public area.
• Event staff will be deployed along the route for safety and other reasons. Participants must follow instructions given by the event staff during the race.
• Racers are strongly advised not to stop and take photos or videos near the starting arch, along the course, and at the finish area, for the sake of safety.
• Racers who fail to reach the designated checkpoints at specific times will be asked by event staff to leave the course and back to the finish point. Such racers must follow such request from the race officials.
• To avoid overcrowding and accidents at the finish area, racers are required to leave the area as soon as possible.
• To avoid overcrowding, there will be no spectators and general public cheering zone.
Finishing Time will be provided to a racer wearing a valid bib and completeing the designated race within time limit. Individual Finishing Time will be provided to Individual racers while Team Finishing Time will be provided to racers of Team of 2. The Organizer will notify awardees for arrangements of prize presentation, which will take place on or after the race day. Details will be announced on the race day.
• Preliminary result will be released on official website on the day after the race day. Any enquiries on result should be submmited to Info.sparkrun@sephk.com within 3 days. The Organizers reserves the rights not to accept any late enquiries.
• E-finisher Certificates will be available one week after the race for racers to download online.
• Appeals/Complains: Award list for each category will be announced at finish point on the race day. Appeals should be raised out with appeal fee HK$200 to the Organizer within 15 minutes after the result announcement or within 1 hour after the racer complete the race. No Appeal fee will be returned once the appeal dismissed.
The Organizer has the sole discretion and reserves the right to disqualify any persons and / or nullify his or her result due to any violation of the Official Rules of the Event and Hong Kong legislation. No refund will be accommodated in the case of disqualifications, not limited to:
• Any violation on official rules & regulations
• Racers must follow the designated course or else they will be disqualified. Their result will not be ranked and no finisher gift will be distributed.
• Racers must not use any external auxiliary equipment in the race (except prosthetic limb(s)).
• Race eligibility is non-transferable and non-salable. Violation will result in disqualification and rejection of participating future events of the Organizer.
All awards and result will be presented according to Official Time. Awards will be distributed to qualified finishers.
Finisher Gift (or other souvenirs) will be distributed to qualified racers who have completed the race.
Racers who cannot continue the race, do not start at the designated Start Time and race category or do not follow the desginated course will be disqualified. No awards and finisher gifts will be issued to those racers.
• The race will be cancelled if tropical cyclone warning signal no.3 or above, or a red or black rainstorm signal is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory at 3 hours before or thereafter on the race day. Racers should check Weather Forecast especially Tropical Cyclone Warning before the race. Please check our official website / Facebook page / Instagram for the latest update.
• If there is any of the above inclement weather at the race start time or during the race, the race will be canceled or terminated immediately. Please be aware of official announcement given on the race day.
